Oscar-ehdokkaat julkistettiin tänään.
David Fincherin ohjaama Mank sai eniten ehdokkuuksia: peräti kymmenen kappaletta. Jo ennakkoon on veikattu suureksi voittajaksi Chloé Zaon ohjaamaa Nomadlandia, joka on myös mukana useassa merkittävässä kategoriassa.
Kaksi naista on ehdolla ohjaajakategoriassa, mitä ei ole koskaan aiemmin tapahtunut Oscareiden historiassa. Chloe Zaon lisäksi brittiläinen Emerald Fennell on ehdolla Oscar-voittajaksi elokuvalla Lupaava nuori nainen.
Palkinnot jaetaan tänä vuonna sunnuntaina 25. huhtikuuta. Yle esittää gaalan suorana ilman tekstitystä. Tuolloin Suomessa ollaan jo maanantain puolella. Luvassa on myös tekstitetty lähetys myöhemmin.
