Star Wars: The Last Jedi -elokuvan ensi-iltaan osallistuneet jakoivat reaktioitaan sosiaalisessa mediassa.
Reaktiot ovat äärimmäisen positiivisia ja ylistäviä. Jotkut kutsuvat The Last Jediä yhdeksi parhaista Star Wars -elokuvista. Rian Johnsonin ohjaus sekä Mark Hamillin ja Carrie Fisherin roolisuoritukset saivat paljon kiitosta.
”Tällaista Star Wars -elokuvaa ei ole ennen nähty”, twiittasi Cinemablend-sivuston Conner Schwerdtfeger, joka myös kutsui elokuvaa mestariteokseksi.
The Last Jedin pituutta kuitenkin kritisoitiin. Kriitikko Scott Mantz totesi elokuvan olevan ”liian pitkä ja raahaavan keskikohdassa”.

Not only are Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill at their very best as Leia and Luke in this movie, but Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver blow Rey and Kylo Ren out of the park. I didn’t expect where those characters went and it’s my favorite part of the movie. #TheLastJedi
